When I was a small boy I made a cross-country trip with my mother on a Greyhound bus. To pass the long hours of travel, a fellow passenger, a strange man, taught me how to draw the image of a very scary convict. I'm sure he had no idea how much his lesson would influence me. Over the years I must have doodled that convict thousand of times, and to this day cops and crooks often appear in my artwork.
