I view the effects of technology and mass consumerism as an avalanche that has crashed down on contemporary culture. As a result, most traditional beliefs and notions have been buried. Art is a means for me to sift the rubble in my search for any surviving meaning.

Richard Benbrook has had one-man shows of his sculpture and paintings in San Francisco, San Anselmo, and Petaluma. His artwork has appeared in exhibits throughout Northern California and his commercial artwork has been featured by The US Postal Service, Chevron and the BBC, among others. He and his wife have two grown sons.
